Hong Kong has always been a top priority for authors when it comes to holidaymaking every year. So, she once looked, looked twice, with her friends, with her mother, with her little daughter, and some day, strolled everywhere on a hot summer day. The author has become more and more attracted to Hong Kong by making notes and photographs of the traces that he is alone. However, Hong Kong, which had to be visited for the purpose of ‘coverage’ unlike the enemy who visited as a ‘travel’, was a different stranger to me. She had to experience, taste and buy more than just enjoying, eating, shopping and enjoying her own travels. The author’s coverage life was a bit tough at first. 2010년 봄. 홍콩으로의 첫 여행 그 마지막 밤에 올랐던 빅토리아 피크에는 한치 앞도 분간하기 어려운 짙은 안개만 가득했습니다. 그토록 기대하던 찬란한 야경은 결국 보지 못했었지요. 다시 돌아 내려오는 피크 트램에서 ‘언젠가 또 오려고 이러나 보다’ 스스로 위로하며 쓰린 속을 달래던 것이 홍콩에 대한 제 첫 기억입니다. 그리고 몇 년 후, 저는 취재라는 목적으로, 또 여행 작가라는 조금은 어색한 신분으로 홍콩을 수도 없이 여행해야 하는 하루하루를 살고 있습니다. 다시 찾은 홍콩에서, 다시 오른 빅토리아 피크에서 그토록 고대하던 찬란한 홍콩의 야경을 결국 마주할 수 있었지요. ‘언젠가 또 오려나 보다’ 했던 그 바람은 결국 그렇게 이루어졌습니다. 조금 더 새로운 책을 완성하기 위해, 더 정확하고 알찬 이야기들을 담기 위해 담당 지역의 거의 모든 골목을 누비고 다녔습니다. 촉박한 시간에 이리 뛰고 저리 뛰면서도, 한 번 걸은 골목을 또 다시 달리면서도, 여전히 부족함을 느낍니다.

His first trip to Hong Kong in the spring of 2010, the Victoria Peak, which was on the last night, was full of heavy fog that was difficult to distinguish. The author did not see the glittering night view that he was expecting. It was his first memory of Hong Kong that hw was relieved from the peak tram coming back again. And a few years later, the author lives a day in which he has to travel countless times in Hong Kong with the purpose of coverage and as a travel writer a bit awkward. Back in Hong Kong, again at the Victoria Peak, he was able to finally see the brilliant night view of Hong Kong that had been so ancient. His desire to ‘come again someday’ was eventually achieved. The author went through almost every corner of the area in order to complete more fresh, more accurate stories. He is running short in a tight time, running away, but once again running around the alley, he still feels scarce.
