미국 뉴욕 주립 대학에서 브랜드 매니지먼트를 공부했다. 한국으로 돌아와 본격적으로 영어 강사의 길을 걸으며 온·오프라인 강의를 통해 영어 초보 수강생들을 만날 수 있었다. 기초가 부족한 영어 초보자들을 위해 어려운 문법 용어에 얽매이지 않고도 영어를 잘할 수 있는 학습법을 연구하기 시작했다. 이후, 딱 ‘세 토막’이면 영어로 하고 싶은 말을 할 수 있는 ‘토막 영어 학습법’을 고안했고 이 학습법에 실생활에서 자주 쓰는 표현들을 접목하여 “세 토막 영어회화”를 집필했다. 무엇부터 시작해야 할지 막막한 영어 초보 학습자들에게 이 책이 희망이 되었으면 한다고.

The author studied brand management at New York State University. He came back to Korea and walked the path of English instructor in earnest.
