한국 외국어대학교에서 한국어와 영어를 전공. 대학 졸업 후 7년간 종로 외국어학원에서 초보자들의 영어 실력 향상을 위해 무진장 땀 흘리며 자신만의 영어 노하우를 개발하였다. 이후 1988년 KBS FM Radio를 통해 방송계에 입문한 그는 MBC Radio, CBS Radio를 거쳐서 1990년 SBS TV 아침 생활영어 진행자로 발탁되어 방송영어 스타로 자리매김하게 된다. 1992년부터는 한국을 방문하는 외국 가수들의 기자회견 통역을 전담하면서 팝송과 영화에 대한 자신의 관심을 영어에 접목시켜 팝송 영어전문가, 팝 칼럼니스트 등으로 입지를 굳건히 했다.
현재 DMB 교육채널에서 “오석태의 파워 스피킹”, 교통방송에서 “오석태의 영어 두 마디”, Winglish.com에서는 “스크린 영어”를 인기리에 진행하고 있으며, 경향신문에는 “오석태의 스크린 영어”를 연재 중이다.

Majored in Korean and English at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. For 7 years after graduating from college, Jongno Foreign Language Institute developed its own English know ? how in order to improve beginner ‘s English ability. In 1988, he entered the broadcasting industry through KBS FM Radio. He became MBC Radio and CBS Radio in 1990 and became a broadcasting English star in SBS TV. Since 1992, he has dedicated himself to interpreting press conferences of foreign singers visiting Korea, and has strengthened his position as a pop columnist, pop columnist, etc. by combining his interest in pop songs and movies with English.
The current DMB education channel is called “Power Speaking by Oh Seok-tae”, “Two English words by Oh Seok-tae” in traffic broadcasts, “Screen English” by Winglish.com is popular, and “Oh Seok-tae’s screen English” .

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign에서 경제학을 전공하고, The University of Pennsylvania에서 TESOL(Teaching English to Students of Other Languages:영어가 모국어가 아닌 사람들을 위한 영어교육)을 전공, 엄청난 분량의 Reading과 Writing을 끝내고 Master’s degree를 취득했다.
고등학교 1학년 때 미국으로 건너간 그는 학창시절, 오디션을 통해 뮤지컬의 주역을 맡기도 하고, 우등생 클럽인 National Honor’s Society의 멤버로도 활동하는 등 넘치는 끼를 주체할 수 없었다고. 그래서인지 그의 책에는 번뜩이는 아이디어와 재치로 재미와 즐거움이 가득하다.
현재, ‘재미있어야 쉽게 배울 수 있다’는 강의 철학을 가지고 ELS와 e4u에서 을 가르치고 있다.

The author studied Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. The University of Pennsylvania received a Master’s degree from TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) with a major in Reading and Writing.
He went to the US in his first year of high school, and during his school days he was auditioning for musicals and being a member of the honorary club National Honor’s Society. So, his book is filled with funny ideas and delightful fun and joy.
Currently, he teaches at ELS and e4u with a lecture philosophy of ‘It is easy to learn because it is fun.’
