시미쌤은 ‘과학을 좋아하는 아이는 문해력도 좋다는 것’을 널리 전파하고자 아이들에게 다양한 과학 수업을 설계하고 적용하는 현직 중학교 과학 교사 겸 과학커뮤니케이터입니다. 이화여자대학교 학부, 석사 과정을 거치며 미국식 과학 교육법인 과학 글쓰기를 사사받았습니다. 또한 문해력과 과학을 동시에 잡는 과학 글쓰기를 좀 더 많은 아이들이 경험하기를 늘 바라며 인스타그램과 네이버 카페를 활발히 운영하고 있습니다. 이 책을 통해서 초등학생 아이들이 과학과 글쓰기를 동시에 잡아 읽기, 쓰기, 말하기에 자신감이 생기기를 진심으로 소망합니다.
The author is a current middle school science teacher and science communicator who designs and applies various science classes to children in order to spread the message that ‘children who like science have good literacy skills’. She studied science writing, an American science education standard, during her undergraduate and graduate studies at Ewha Womans University. In addition, the author actively operates Instagram and Naver cafes in the hope that more children will experience science writing that combines literacy and science. She sincerely hopes that through this book, elementary school children will learn about science and writing at the same time and gain confidence in reading, writing, and speaking.
