고려대학교 법학과를 졸업하고 한국거래소를 거쳐 동서증권에서 20년 근무했다. 한국투자증권 이사를 역임하였으며 교보증권, 신한금융투자, 하나대투증권에서 투자상담사 및 고문으로 활동했다.
우리나라 1세대 증권맨이다. 기관과 일반투자자로 40년 가까이 코스피의 현장을 지킨, 정통 주식 전문가이다. 위기를 기회로 보지 못하고 언제나 실패를 반복하는 개인투자자들에게 역사야말로 올바른 투자의 감을 익히는 데 가장 중요하다고 믿으며 이 책을 집필했다.

After graduating from Korea University with a degree in law, he worked for 20 years at Dongseo Securities after going through the Korea Exchange.
