이순신 연구가, 역사 칼럼니스트. 충남 보령에서 태어났다. 남대전고등학교, 서강대학교 정치외교학과, 고려대학교 대학원정치외교학과를 졸업했다. 아리랑TV 기획실, 국회의원보좌관으로 일했다. 삶의 고난이 깊어질 무렵, 이순신의 삶에 빠져 이순신에 대한 책을 네 권 썼다. 이순신의 속마음을 탐험한 “이순신, 꿈속을 걸어 나오다”, 그의 삶을 추적하면서 배운 그의 지혜를 엮은 “그는 어떻게 이순신이 되었나”, 불패의 명장 이순신의 삶의 원칙을 찾은 “이순신 이기는 원칙”, 이순신에게 결정적 영향을 끼친 스승 15인을 살펴본 “흔들리는 마흔, 이순신을 만나다”가 있다. 이순신을 만난 뒤로 어떤 위기에서도 희망을 갖고 사는 그는 이순신 장군의 마음을 전함으로써 세상이 조금 더 밝아질 수 있길 바란다. 또한 앞으로도 끊임없이 이순신의 지혜를 탐구하고 나누며 살고자 한다.
