책의 저자는 1년 동안 전국을 돌며 농부가 된 도시 사람들의 솔직한 이야기를 들었다. 나무, 쌈채소, 과일, 약용버섯 등 재배작물도 다르고, 소득도 천차만별이다. 짧게는 5년차부터 길게는 20년차까지 다양한 연차의 일곱 농부들은 진짜 농부의 삶을 솔직하게 들려준다.
준비가 미흡해 다시 도시로 돌아가는 일이 없기를 바라는 마음에서, 낭만과 환상을 걷어낸 농부의 일상과 귀농을 민낯을 보여주려 했다. 이 책에 실린 어떤 사진도 포토샵 처리를 하지 않은 이유도 그 때문이다. 뙤약볕 아래 이어지는 육체노동, 판로개척을 위한 쉼 없는 영업, 내일 농사를 위한 준비 등 정신없는 농부의 하루를 통해 다시 한번 진지하게 귀농을 고민할 기회를 준다.

A year’s record covering all over the country, a straightforward story of the farmers who were not easy in rural life.
The author of the book listened to a straightforward story of the townspeople who went all over the country for a year and became farmers. Growing crops such as trees, sweet potatoes, fruits, medicinal mushrooms are also different, and the income is very different. Shortly from the fifth year to the longest 20 years, the seven farmers of various ages honestly tell the life of a real farmer.
This book is not ready to go back to the city, hoping that there will be no return to the city, showing the farmer’s daily life and earnestly brought out the romance and fantasy. That’s why no photos in this book have photoshopped. Through a day of uncultivated farmers, such as manual labor that goes on in the light of the sun, restless business for market exploration, and preparation for tomorrow, the farmer once again gives him the opportunity to seriously consider farming.

도시에서 태어나 도시에서 자랐다. 서울 근교의 시골 아닌 시골, 군 소재지에 살며 출판기획자로 일하고 있다. 집 앞 자투리 땅에 상추, 호박, 방울토마토 등을 기르며 수확의 즐거움을 처음 알았고, 나이 들면 귀농해야지라는 막연한 생각을 품었다. 도시에서 살다가 귀농한 사람들을 만날 우연한 기회를 얻고, 그들의 이야기를 듣기 위해 1년여에 걸쳐 전국을 돌며 인터뷰를 하고 글을 썼다. 게으른 귀농 프로젝트는 지금도 꾸준히 진행 중이다.

The author was born in a city and grew up in a city. She lives and works in the rural areas of the suburbs of Seoul. She first knew the pleasure of harvesting the lettuce, pumpkin, and drop tomatoes on the ground in front of the house, and had a vague idea that she should go earnestly when she was old. The author spent the entire year traveling around the country, interviewing, and writing to get a chance to meet people who lived in the city and who were deaf. Her lazy earring project is still underway.
