The author is a graduate of Seoul National University, Department of Physics Education, and holds master’s and doctoral degrees. Currently, he teaches science at secondary school. The writer have been interested in how to easily communicate difficult science lessons to students and have been studying about it. The Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation has developed physics 1 and physics 2 class materials for high school science teachers. In recent years, he has also co-authored the “Access Science Exploratory Experiment” for middle school students.

‘달팽이 박사’ 권오길 교수님은 한평생 우리나라 구석구석을 누비며 생명 탐구에 힘써 온 생물학자입니다. 서울대학교 사범대학 생물학과와 대학원을 졸업하고, 현재 강원대학교 생명과학부에서 학생들과 함께 공부하며 지내고 있답니다. 한국간행물윤리상 저작상, 대한민국 과학문화상 등을 수상했으며 대표적인 저서로 《꿈꾸는 달팽이》, 《생물의 다살이》,《열목어 눈에는 열이 없다》, 《권오길 박사의 아름다운 생명일기》 등이 있습니다.

Professor Kwon, Ohgil is a biologist who has worked hard to explore life through all corners of our life. He am currently studying with students at the Department of Biological Sciences and Graduate School of Life Sciences at Kangwon National University. 심재헌 박사님은 대학에서 생물학을 전공하고 대학원에서 곤충학을 전공하여 석사 및 박사 학위를 받았습니다. 현재는 경상북도 자연환경연수원 교수로 일하며 환경체험 교육과 청소년 생태학교 등 자연체험교육 프로그램을 담당하고 있습니다. 또한 환경부의 환경교육 강사와 한국곤충학회 이사로도 활동 중입니다. 백두대간 곤충 조사와 독도 생태 조사 활동 등 다양한 연구 조사 활동도 하고 있답니다.

Dr. Shim Jae Heon majored in biology at the university and majored in entomology at the graduate school and received his master’s and doctoral degrees. Currently, he is a professor at Gyeongsangbuk-do Natural Environment Training Institute and is in charge of environmental experience education programs and youth experience schools. He is also an environmental education instructor of the Ministry of Environment and a director of the Insect Society of Korea.
